Mark Twain, A rare American voice

Mark Twain

Members of the Mark Twain House education staff will place several of his works in the context of Twain’s times with three talks: “How to Reform a Conscience” (on Huck Finn); “Mark Twain, Cosmic Traveler” (on Innocents Abroad); and “The Character of the Place” (on The Gilded Age). The three classroom sessions at the Wasch Center will be followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of the Twain House in West Hartford. No reading is required, but familiarity with the material will enhance participants’ overall experience, and deepen their appreciation for Twain’s wit and wisdom.
